What Are the New Customer Accounts? The new customer accounts are Shopify’s updated customer account experience introduced in 2023. Legacy Customer Accounts required customers to log in with an email address and password. With new customer accounts, login is handled via email-based authentication, so passwords are no longer required. How to Set It Up From the Shopify admin: 1. Go to Settings (bottom-left of the admin) 2. Open Checkout 3. Click Customize 4. Open Customer accounts and add the app
